Creative Initiative for Enterprise Development (CIfED) is a social Enterprise that was registered in 2013 to respond to challenges caused by escalating poverty levels faced by the households in the Teso sub region. Currently CIfED has program presence in the Districts of Kaberamaido, Soroti and Serere. CIfED pursues integrated approaches that support communities to become more self reliant and regain control of their own development. CIfED targets the most vulnerable farming communities especially women and youth who are faced with many social injustices including limited access to resources and no bargaining power. The community members are organized into Rural Producer Groups and after capacity building are registered at Sub County level.

CIfED is seeking funding opportunities to implement their strategy with focus in agro-processing and value addition upstream the agricultural value chain. There is need to build the capacity of households to scale up production and processing, expand the distribution and marketing channels to meet the growing demand. The business is viable and has a tremendous long term potential to increase food production and achieve food security, impart production skills and increase overall agricultural productivity hence making farmers more competitive in the world markets and promoting intra-regional trade. CIfED’s programs have the potential of increasing rural income levels and the livelihood of millions of farmers in the region and most importantly restoration of the degraded landscape.
